Team Spirit and Competition
The house system at Dubai British School Jumeirah Park plays a vital role in student life, fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendly rivalry. Upon joining, students are welcomed into one of four houses: Caracal, Falcon, Gazelle, or Oryx. These houses become their teams for various activities throughout their school journey.
A wide array of events are organized, including Christmas carol singing, sports days, World Book Day dress-ups, and swimming galas. These activities encourage students and staff to engage in friendly competition and earn points for their houses, fostering a vibrant community spirit.
Sports Development and Opportunities
Sport is a cornerstone of the culture at Dubai British School Jumeirah Park. As a member of the Dubai Athletics Schools Association, the school adheres to guidelines set by the KHDA and the Sports Council to ensure a robust sports program.
Students have ample opportunities to participate in swimming tournaments both within the school and across the country, with competitions taking place almost every weekend. A platform is provided for students to excel in athletics and develop their physical skills.
Creativity at Dubai British School Jumeirah Park
A partnership with the Dubai Performing Arts Academy, led by industry veterans Lisa Scott-Lee and Johnny Shentall-Lee, has enabled the introduction of one of the first BTEC courses in performing arts in Dubai, adding a rich dimension to the curriculum.
The Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts is taught by seasoned professionals and supported by dedicated teachers. This course is designed to cultivate “triple threat” performers skilled in singing, acting, and dancing. Beyond the stage, the project-based course helps students develop essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, and resilience, which are invaluable in all future academic and professional pursuits.
These diverse extracurricular opportunities help students grow, learn, and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
